GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Police are investigating a report that a woman was assaulted on a Rapid bus on Thursday, Nov. 29, before she used pepper spray on the assailant.
The woman required treatment for facial injuries. A 2-year-old, hit with a small amount of pepper spray in the face, was OK after being treated by rescuers.
The man who allegedly assaulted the woman got off the bus at Ionia Avenue SW and Cherry Street, police said.
He ran away, but is believed to have been hit by pepper spray. Police said the man and woman had a relationship.
Police said the pepper spray did not affect any others.
